What Is "Slugs"? "Slugs" is the new name for was was originally called "SELGoth": (S)outh (E)ast (L)ondon (Goth)s, and is a mailing list for a group of Goths (and goth friendly people ;) ) that happen to find themselves south of the river Thames. Why "Slugs"? Well you can blame Alexanders sence of humour there. It's because "We wear black and we like to Slime". *giggle* For those that don't get it; A) we do wear black and, B) we go to Slimelight[1]. Slimelight, again for those who don't know, is a Goth club in Islington, London. [1] although this is not strictly true for all of us :) The Origins Of "Slugs" The original collection of people was formed in late 1998 when Aliceavia posted a request on the UPG (UK People Gothic) Newsgroup asking if there were any other Goth-types interested in meeting up for various things in the SE London/Kent area. A few responses came through and group-emails were sent out and dates were arranged. Then Alexander offered to setup a formal Mailing List for what was then known as SELGoth. The SELGoth Mailing list later developed hick-ips, and so a new list with the new name "Slugs" was formed... So What Do "Slugs" Do? Since then we have been getting together for things like PubMeets, Picnics, Cinema Trips, Video Evenings and many more things. We have even managed to meet up at Whitby for a SlugsMeet and I'm sure this will be a regular thing now... ...or maybe not. Slugs is now a closed list. Using Slugs
To post a message to all the list members, send email to slugs@twisted.org.uk. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Slugs
Subscribe to Slugs by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
